WAGER ON OAKLAWN PARK
| The 54-day meeting runs through the spring and concludes on Arkkansas Derby Day, April 10. The Arkansas Derby (G1) has undergone a few changes in 2010 - the purse is up to $1 million and the key Derby prep is finally awarded Grade 1 status. Curlin, Afleet Alex, Summer Bird and Smarty Jones are just a quartet of names that have passed through Hot Springs in recent years.
The series for three-year-olds includes the $250,000 Southwest S. (G3) on February 15 and the $300,000 Rebel S. (G2) on March 13. April 3 is another huge day at Oaklawn, when the $500,000 Apple Blossom h. (G1) and $500,000 Oaklawn H. (G2) are to be contested.
